I’m the same way, I can never smell the candles I buy, but same candle smells great somewhere else?! So I gave up on the scented candles. I really like the yankee candle co. tarts, you get a tart burner and light a tea light under it or they have the electric burners. Also I’m a big fan of the new reed oil diffusers. They cost about $20 but some of them are really worth it…Target and bed bath and beyond have the best so far.
Ask your friend where she buys her candles! Also ask someone else if they can smell your candles or not. Maybe because you’re there all the time, the smell isn’t as strong but it might be when someone comes in from the outside. Another great way to get scent in a house is those bottles filled with different scented oils that deliver the scent through reeds sitting in them. And you don’t have to worry about burning the house down! I think they’re better than candles myself!
I agree you are probably just used to the smell of your own house.
When Febreze started making their line of "noticeables" air fresheners, the point is that it switches off every half hour or so, so you notice the change in scent. I imagine it is the same with candles.
You could try getting a new scent, or a few that compliment each other, and light them in different combinations, or switch which ones are burning through the day.
The Best Candle You Will Ever Smell. One candle scents my entire house and I can still smell them when they aren’t even lit.
Our candles are all natural, hand poured, triple scented and cleaner burning. Made with soy/veggie based wax they are long burning and burn evenly, leaving virtually no leftover wax on the jar. Our Gourmet Candle line features 16oz jar candles in over 90 incredible scents. Our Gourmet Candles are triple scented, last up to 50% longer than a ‘regular’ candle, practically soot free, non-toxic, 100% bio-degradeable, use recycled American farmland materials and clean up with soap and water.
